FURSA ILIYOPO TANZANIA JUU YA UFUGAJI WA NYUKI.
Tanzania ina mazingira mazuri ya kuzalisha mazao ya nyuki kwa kuwa kuna mimea mingi ambayo inatoa maua yenye kutoa mbochi na chavua vitu ambavyo huwavutia nyuki na kutengeneza asali.

Katika Tanzania mazao makuu yatokanayo na ufugaji wa nyuki ni asali na nta. Hata hivyo kuna mazao mengi ambayo yanaweza kuzalishwa kutokana na asali na nta.
 
Tanzania tumejaliwa maeneo mengi sana na makubwa yenye misitu minene yenye chavua na nectar kwa wingi, maeneo haya yapo karibu Tanzania nzima hayana matumizi yoyote yale ya ufugaji wa nyuki, kwa nchi nyingi Africa kama vile Ethiopia na nchi nyinginezo ambazo zinasemekana kuongoza kwa ufugaji nyuki zinatamani sana maeneo mazuri tuliyonayo.

Ukizunguka maeneo mbalimbali ya Mkoa wa Tabora, Rukwa, Katavi, Kigoma, Singida,Dodoma, Shinyanga na Mikoa mingine mingi, rasilimali hizi za misitu zimebweteka na hakuna hatua zozote zinazochukuliwa na serikali yetu ya kuwekea mkazo katika kuwekeza kwa ufugaji wa nyuki.

Tusisitize serikali za vijiji kutoa maeneo hayo ya misitu yenye mahitaji ya nyuki kwa vikundi mbalimbali vya wafugaji nyuki ili kuweza kuiboresha na kuiendeleza idara hii ya ufugaji nyuki

Maisha ya Nyuki 
 Nyuki ni mdudu mwenye mabawa manne angavu na mwiba nyuma ya mwili wake anayekusanya mbelewele ya maua kama chakula chake. Aina inayojulikana hasa ni nyuki wa asali wa familia apis. Kuna spishi zaidi za 20,000 zinazojumlishwa na biolojia kati ya nyuki lakini ni wale wa jenasi apis wanaokusanya asali inayovunwa na wanadamu.

Nyuki za asali mara nyingi wanafugwa lakini wengine wanaishi porini na asali yao inakusanywa kwa kuvunja mzinga wao. Katika Afrika kwa jumla sehemu ya asali bado inatokana na nyuki asali wa porini lakini ufugaji nyuki unapanua.

Hapo mwanzo Wanajamii walikuwa wanafuga nyuki kwenye magome ya miti, vibuyu, vyungu, mapango, vichuguu na kwenye miamba. Baada ya muda ufugaji ulipiga hatua kidogo na watu wengi wakawa wanafuga kwa kutumia mizinga iliyochongwa kutoka kwenye magogo ya miti. Ufugaji wa aina hii umedumu kwa karne nyingi kote nchini Tanzania.
Kutokana na uhitaji na ongezeko la matumizi ya bidhaa za nyuki, kulifanyika tafiti mbalimbali ambazo ziliweza kuboresha ufugaji wa nyuki kwa kuwa na mizinga ya kisasa ambayo imewezesha uzalishaji wa asali kuwa mkubwa na kuongeza pato la wafugaji tofauti na ilivyokuwa hapo awali. Tafiti hazikuishia kwenye kuboresha mizinga tu, ila siku hadi siku kunavumbuliwa namna bora zaidi za kuimarisha uzalishaji wa nyuki.
Nyumba ya nyuki.
Hii ni aina mpya ya ufugaji wa nyuki ambapo unaweza kujenga kibanda au nyumba kisha kuweka mizinga idadi unayohitaji.
Ni kwa nini kujenga nyumba au kibanda?
Ø Ni muhimu kufuga nyuki kwenye kibanda au kwenye nyumba kwa sababu inasaidia kudhibiti wizi wa mizinga, pamoja na wanyama wanaokula asali na kudhuru nyuki.
Ø Inarahisisha utunzaji wa mizinga na kuwafanya nyuki wasihame kwenda sehemu nyingine.
Ø Inasaidia watu wengi kujifunza namna nzuri ya ufugaji wa nyuki, ikiwa ni pamoja na watoto, jambo ambalo linafanya shughuli hii kuwa endelevu.
Ø Ufugaji wa aina hii unasaidia kuwakinga nyuki dhidi ya majanga kama vile moto, na mafuriko.
Ø Inawaepusha nyuki na usumbufu unaoweza kuwafanya wasizalishe kwa kiwango kinachotakiwa.
Ø Uzalishaji unaongezeka. Hii ni kwa sababu mizinga inayotumika ni ile ya kibiashara. Mzinga 1 unapata asali kilo 30 sawa na lita 20.

Aina ya nyumba
Unaweza kujenga nyumba yenye upana wa futi 3 na urefu wa futi 9. Nyumba hii inaweza kuchukua mizinga hamsini. Halikadhalika, unaweza kujenga kibanda chenye ukubwa sawa na huo.

SIFA ZIFAAZO KWA MAENEO YA KUFUGIA NYUKI (MANZUKI)
Eneo lifaalo kwa shughuli za ufugaji nyuki ni lazima liwe na sifa zifuatazo:
Ø (i) Miti, uoto wowote wa asili na mimea mbalimbali kwa mfano mazao ya chakula na biashara, Kusiwe na aina ya mimea ambayo nyuki hawapendi.
(ii) Maji ya kudumu ambayo hutumika kama sehemu ya chakula cha jamii nzima ya kundi la nyuki. Pia maji hutumika kwa kurekebisha hali ya hewa ndani ya mzinga.
Ø (iii) Eneo la shamba la nyuki ni lazima liwe ni salama kwa mizinga, mazao yake, mifugo, binadamu, na mahali ambapo maadui wa nyuki hawapo au wanaweza kudhibitiwa(Ili kuwa na ufanisi mzuri, nyumba hii inafaa kujengwa nje kidogo ya makazi ya watu, Kusiwe na mifugo karibu, Iwe sehemu ambayo watoto hawawezi kufika, Isiwe karibu na njia ambayo watu wanapita mara kwa mara.)

(iv) Kivuli cha kadri na kinga ya upepo ili kuwapunguzia nyuki kazi kubwa ya ubebaji maji kwa ajili ya kupunguza joto. Inafaa kufugia nyuki ndani ya nyumba iliyoandaliwa kwa ajili ya ufugaji wa nyuki(bee-house)

Mawasiliano ya barabara ni muhimu yawepo ili kurahisisha uhudumiaji wa makundi ya nyuki pamoja na mazao yake hadi kufikia sokoni.

Mavuno
Baada ya kujenga nyumba, kuweka mizinga na nyuki kuingia, unaweza kuvuna kwa mara ya kwanza baada ya miezi mitatu. Utaweza kupata mavuno mazuri endapo utavuna kabla nyuki na wadudu wengine hawajaanza kula asali.
Ni muhimu kuhakikisha kuwa wadudu waharibifu kama vile sisimizi, mende na wengineo wanadhibitiwa ili kutokuathiri uzalishaji wa asali. Hakikisha unavuna kitaalamu ili kuepuka upotevu wa asali. Endapo nyuki wametunzwa vizuri na kwenye mazingira mazuri, unaweza kuvuna asali mara tatu kwa mwaka. Katika mzinga mpya nyuki wana uwezo wa kutengeneza masega kwa siku tatu na kuanza uzalishaji wa asali.

• Inatumika kama tiba ya magonjwa mbalimbali
• Hutumika kutibu majeraha
• Ni chanzo kizuri cha kipato
• Hutumika katika kutengeneza dawa za binadamu
*Asali inaweza kuhifadhiwa kwa miaka mingi sana bila kuharibika. Hii inatokana na wingi wa dawa maalum iliyo nayo inayofanya isiharibike.

 Kuna aina nyingi ya bidhaa zinatokana na asali, kwa kutengenezwa na nyuki wenyewe na nyingine zikitengenezwa na binadamu kutokana na tafiti mbalimbali. Miongoni mwa bidhaa hizo ni:

• Royal jelly : Hii ni aina ya maziwa yanayotengenezwa na nyuki, ambayo hutumika kama tiba.
Gundi: Hii hutumika kutengeneza bidhaa za aina mbalimbali kulingana na mahitaji ya mtumiaji.
Nta: hutumika kutengenezea mishu maa, kulainisha nyuzi, kutengeneza dawa ya viatu, mafuta ya kupaka, pamoja na dawa ya ngozi.

CALL FOR TRAINING ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND MINDSET TRANSFORMATION FOR CREATING INNOVATIVE ENTREPRENEURS IN AGRIBUSINESS VALUE CHAINS IN TANZANIA.



THE GIE PROJECT
Background.
Growing innovative entrepreneurs through action Research in Agribusiness Value chains in Tanzania (GIE) is a DANIDA Funded project run in collaboration between the DAEA-SUA and International business Centre-AAU.
The core project objective is to generate new knowledge on the design of the Value addition Process of Students Entrepreneurship through curriculum improvement and incubator training, more specifically this project seek conceptualise,unfold and implement the student entrepreneurship value chain(From Student to incubator to entrepreneur) and to enrich SUA curriculum in Entrepreneurship and business Management with practical application in Food processing, in effort to meet these objectives, the project is under taking action Research on Students Entrepreneurship value chain, and it’s now preparing a training on Entrepreneurship and Mindset transformation. The Training is meant to close the competence gap that inhibits individuals (would be entrepreneurs from SUA) and newly established SUA Graduate entrepreneur start-up business, from fully participating in the entrepreneurial undertaking in the Agribusiness.


ABOUT THE TRAINING.
The training is specifically designed to explore the Mindset of SUA Students and Fresh Graduate entrepreneurs, as they aspire to or participate in specific Agribusiness value chain activities, student entrepreneurs are also value added in terms of a number of entrepreneurial aspects including mindset. Through their stories we will unravel the mysteries and explore the realities of what it really takes to start and grow a successfully new business. The training will be divided into two Modules .Module one will involve mindset transformation, and Module two will anchor on entrepreneurship growth.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING.
1) To understand entrepreneurship, entrepreneurs, and their importance to economic growth.
2) To identify the Possibilities and potential as well as their perils and pitfalls of entrepreneurship.
3) To explain the old economic and the mindset that ensued as well as the disruption and the changes that occurred.
4) To describe the new economy and the Entrepreneurial mindset that is emerging.
5) To recognize the importance of embracing changes and the dangers of denial.
6) To see the Economic landscape through the eyes of an entrepreneur, understand their perspective and have insight into their abilities to recognize opportunities that others overlook.
7) To understand and be able to foster and apply the essential habits, attituted behaviors and characteristics that enable entrepreneurs to transform an opportunity into a successfully new venture.

Eligibility of Registration
a) All SUA Students from any degree program who are engaged/aspire to be engaged in Private Agribusiness activities.
b) Applicant should write a one page Motivation essay as to why she/he is interested in the course and an attached proof of affiliation with SUA (Copy of your ID).
C) Fresh SUA (Graduates within 3 years) who are engaged in Private Agribusiness activities.
AUDIENCES:
This training is designed for All SUA Students who are considering starting business in Agribusiness and Fresh SUA Graduates who have already started an Agribusiness wish to learn how to take their business to the next level of growth.
