THE GIE PROJECT
Background.
Growing innovative entrepreneurs through action Research in Agribusiness
Value chains in Tanzania (GIE) is a DANIDA Funded project run in collaboration
between the DAEA-SUA and International business Centre-AAU.
The core project objective is to generate new knowledge on the
design of the Value addition Process of Students Entrepreneurship through
curriculum improvement and incubator training, more specifically this project
seek conceptualise,unfold and implement the student entrepreneurship value
chain(From Student to incubator to entrepreneur) and to enrich SUA curriculum
in Entrepreneurship and business Management with practical application in Food processing,
in effort to meet these objectives, the project is under taking action Research
on Students Entrepreneurship value chain, and it’s now preparing a training on
Entrepreneurship and Mindset transformation. The Training is meant to close the
competence gap that inhibits individuals (would be entrepreneurs from SUA) and
newly established SUA Graduate entrepreneur start-up business, from fully
participating in the entrepreneurial undertaking in the Agribusiness.
ABOUT THE
TRAINING.
The training is specifically designed to explore the Mindset
of SUA Students and Fresh Graduate entrepreneurs, as they aspire to or
participate in specific Agribusiness value chain activities, student
entrepreneurs are also value added in terms of a number of entrepreneurial
aspects including mindset. Through their stories we will unravel the mysteries
and explore the realities of what it really takes to start and grow a
successfully new business. The training will be divided into two Modules
.Module one will involve mindset transformation, and Module two will anchor on
entrepreneurship growth.
SPECIFIC
OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING.
1) To understand entrepreneurship, entrepreneurs, and their
importance to economic growth.
2) To identify the Possibilities and potential as well as
their perils and pitfalls of entrepreneurship.
3) To explain the old economic and the mindset that ensued as
well as the disruption and the changes that occurred.
4) To describe the new economy and the Entrepreneurial mindset
that is emerging.
5) To recognize the importance of embracing changes and the
dangers of denial.
6) To see the Economic landscape through the eyes of an
entrepreneur, understand their perspective and have insight into their
abilities to recognize opportunities that others overlook.
7) To understand and be able to foster and apply the essential
habits, attituted behaviors and characteristics that enable entrepreneurs to transform
an opportunity into a successfully new venture.
Eligibility
of Registration
a) All SUA
Students from any degree program who are engaged/aspire to be engaged in
Private Agribusiness activities.
b) Applicant should write a one page Motivation essay
as to why she/he is interested in the course and an attached proof of
affiliation with SUA (Copy of your ID).
C) Fresh SUA (Graduates within 3 years) who are engaged in
Private Agribusiness activities.
AUDIENCES:
This training is designed for All SUA Students who are considering
starting business in Agribusiness and Fresh SUA Graduates who have already
started an Agribusiness wish to learn how to take their business to the next
level of growth.

DURATION.
The training is the foundation for making incumber entrepreneurs,
discover their intent and perspectives in Entrepreneurship; it is therefore
staggered into very short intensive activities over period of one to two two
years.
